Des informations concernant la Turquie III

Posted by Cem on 31/01/11

Here is a seventh wave of very interesting articles: EU report praises Turkey “Turkey’s 2010 budget figures announced by Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek impressed the EU. Turkey has achieved “a much better than expected” budgetary performance in 2010, the European Commission has said in an economic report on candidate and potential candidate countries. The report [...]

Attention please: Turkey does not need the EU funds (unlike Greece)

I started a discussion here, and I want to introduce as a new article my answer to our friends who posted a comment. I also added several lines. Well, when a new country becomes an EU member, the EU long-term budget had long before to foresee some funds for that country. That was and still [...]

The Turks might say “No”

I read a very interesting article written by Eric Ellis, from the Australian newspaper The Age. I fully agree with Eric Ellis. His article is one of the best that I have ever read. Although we are used to swimming in an endless ocean of prejudices towards Turkey, I’m very glad to see that we [...]

Arka sokaklarda neler oluyor?

Turkey’s Datça cemetery: proof of tolerance I quote: A multi-confessional cemetery in Datça provides evidence that people of different religions can live and be buried together, a prominent resident of the southern town has said in response to a controversy over graves in nearby Bodrum. “In Datça [in the southwestern province of Muğla], locals, foreigners, [...]

Turkey rss

This blog is about the relations between Turkey and the EU. I explain how much some notorious French TV channels and other media are biased regarding Turkey. This blog is an antidote for the perpetual anti-Turkey brainwashing of numerous dark circles within the EU and the USA (On July 2011 a political adviser of a member of the EU parliament told ABHaber: "I’ve been working at the EU parliament for 6 years. When Turkey is dealt with some people press the button and everybody bestir themselves and ensure that the Turkey dossier is concluded negatively. Difficult to understand. There is an unnamed anti-Turkey mechanism at the EU parliament. Completely organized"). Imagine that you're listening to Bach or Kenny Kirkland – or to your favourite song – in harmony. But suddenly, someone is screeching a piece of chalk on a blackboard. That screech that you heard is racism. Well it is useful to highlight this: the Turks are not “true” Muslims according to the Arabs whereas they are not “true” Europeans according to the Europeans. So who are the Turks? Where do they live? I think that I’ve discovered a new continent on our planet. Its name: Turkope. Jules Verne would be proud of me! more.
