Another wave of success of THY:

THY scores triple at world airline awards, including best in Europe

23.06.2011 – 14:30

Turkish Airlines (THY) yesterday was named the best airline in Europe as well as the winner in two other categories in the World Airline Awards by Skytrax, a London-based organization which researches quality in air travel.

In the annual survey, Turkish Airlines won Best Airline Europe, Best Premium Economy Seats for its Comfort Class seats, and Best Airline Southern Europe.

The World Airline Awards, voted on by airline customers, are based on results from 18.8 million questionnaires, covering more than 200 airlines worldwide.

Award winners are determined by measuring more than 35 different aspects of passenger satisfaction for product and service standards, covering the experience across both airport and onboard environments.

I am very happy for them. THY deserved this for a long time.

Next wave: the wi-fi through the atmosphere!

It would be very useful to be able to read the worldwide newspapers through the web during the long flights.

I’ve just arrived in Turkey and to write under a starry sky that post about the success of THY after my pleasant flight with them is terrific.

THY I like thy flights and services!

Yours sincerely,

Cem

  1. I learned nearly one month ago that henceforth there is the wi-fi on the Turkish Airlines planes!

Turkish Airlines chosen Best Airline in Europe – July 13th 2012

“As part of a survey conducted by global aviation research organization Skytrax, the Turkish Airlines (THY) has been named as the winner of three categories, namely, the Best Airline in Europe, the Best Airline in Southern Europe and the Best Premium Economy Class Airline Seats. These three awards were received by THY Director General Temel Kotil at a ceremony which was held yesterday in Farnborough, Britain. The survey polled over 18 million airline passengers from 100 countries. Speaking at the award ceremony, Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted said, “Turkish Airlines continues to consolidate its position as one of the world’s leading airlines and the awards they have received today for Best Airline in Europe and the Best Airline in Southern Europe demonstrate their continued popularity amongst passengers.” For his part, Kotil said that THY aimed at ranking the first in the world.”
