That is an excellent news!!
“Nearly 1.5 billion saplings were planted in Turkey over an area of 1,927 million hectares in the past four years, Turkish Directorate General of Forestry has said.
ANKARA – The forestation project was launched in 2007 as the biggest forestation effort in the country’s history and it covers an area equal to Turkey’s Thrace region, west of Istanbul to the Greek border.
The project over-achieved targets each year since it was launched and it aims to absorb 181.4 million tons of carbon from the atmosphere within the first 20-year period.”
